Clare Casey
A Coast Salish Sea Bioregion and surrounding-watershed based artist and animist practicing with the transformative interactions of shadow and light through Metal, Paper, Eco-Poetics and Butoh dance. They are a diasporic ceremonialist and ritualist (irish, danish, balkan), community theater participant, often exploring the weavings of dreaming, biodiversity, embodiment arts, menstruation, cycles, plant medicine and living decolonization. Their main projects are Samnhás (Sowv-niss), multimedia partnership in atmospheric acoustic music and butoh/death practice/sacred clown theatre, sculptural installation featuring regional biodiversity, FemMetalCollective (N. Salish Sea), Severed Branches Press, and HallowGramma, a pseudonym for trans-dimensional practices in soul retrieval and menstrual/blood doula-ship/priestexing.
